Refund policy
If something isn't right with your order, email brian@brianswines.ie and we'll sort it out.
Changed your mind
You can cancel any order within 14 days of receiving or collecting it. Let us know by email within those 14 days, then return the bottles to 3 Cornmarket Street, Cork, T12 X9Y9, within 14 days of telling us. You're welcome to drop them back in person during opening hours.
Bottles must be unopened, with corks, caps and capsules intact, and kept as described under Storing and serving below. Opened bottles can't be returned for a change of mind.
We'll refund the price of the wine you return and, if you return the whole order, the standard delivery charge you paid. Return postage is at your cost. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of hearing from you, though we may wait until the bottles are back with us or you've sent us proof of postage.
Faulty wine
If a bottle is corked or otherwise faulty, tell us and we'll replace it or refund it in full, opened or not. Please keep the bottle with most of the wine still in it so we can check it.
Natural wines are made with little or no intervention, so sediment, a slight haze or a light spritz in a still wine can be part of the wine's character rather than a fault. If you're unsure, send us a note or a photo and we'll talk it through.
Broken or damaged in transit
If anything arrives broken or leaking, email us a photo, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, and we'll send a replacement or refund it, delivery included.
Storing and serving
Many of our wines are made with little or no added sulphur, which makes them more sensitive to heat and light than most. A few simple habits keep them at their best.
- Keep bottles somewhere cool, dark and steady, ideally 10 to 15°C. Avoid kitchens, radiators, sunny windows and car boots.
- Lay cork-sealed bottles on their side if you're keeping them for more than a few weeks. Crown caps and screwcaps can stand upright.
- If a delivery arrives warm, let it rest somewhere cool for a day or two before opening.
- Serve sparkling and white wines cool, around 8 to 12°C, and orange wines a touch warmer, around 12 to 14°C. Most reds are best a little below room temperature, around 14 to 16°C, and lighter reds take a light chill well.
- If a wine has sediment, stand it upright for a day and pour gently. If it smells closed or a little reduced when first opened, give it some air in a carafe or in the glass.
- Once open, recork it and keep it in the fridge. Most wines stay good for two to three days, sparkling wines for a day or two.
Each wine's page also gives our recommended way to serve that bottle. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact us at brian@brianswines.ie.
Damage from heat or poor storage after a wine has reached you isn't something we can treat as a fault, but if you're ever unsure about a bottle, ask us.
